Sofia does not settle to go to sleep. She has been placed on a play mat on the floor inside. Nomsa leaves her with a few colourful toys. Sofia plays with the different toys by rolling herself around the mat and accidentally arriving at a toy to explore. She looks at the toys closely. Nomsa arrives and stands over her – both with their hands outstretched – but Sofia withdraws her hands and Nomsa quickly leaves her to play, watching her from close by. When Sofia becomes distressed Nomsa places a small plastic chair in front of the filmmaker and puts Sofia in it, with a worm-like toy. Sofia continues to play with the toy – handling it easily and picking it up once she has dropped it. She looks at the worm's “face” closely and focuses on its eyes.
