Leago and his cousin, Naledi, are playing together. They crawl up and down the passage. “Get out of his way, Naledi, he wants to pass”, says mom. The two settle onto the carpet with a range of mobile-phone-type toys. There is competition for a particular phone which Leago is holding onto. Naledi is trying to get Leago to swop it with her plastic ring, “Look, Lee, it’s nice”, she says.

The wrangling for the phone continues with Naledi holding onto it and Leago crawling over her to get it. Naledi calls out for her father to look at what Lee is doing. “You’re making yourself fall and blaming Leago”, mom says. Naledi has the phone and Leago stands above her and lets a large blob of saliva fall onto Naledi, who shrieks “Yuck, Lee! Your spit has wet my dress”. Naledi goes off to show mom, who does not show much sympathy. Leago takes the phone and looks around.
