Banele | Siblings, Thriving

Continuing from clip 01:

Banele is sitting on Skhumbuzo’s lap. This is quite unusual for the filmmaker to see. The baking of scones is continuing with mom and Sihle greasing the baking trays. Banele is looking directly into the camera and reaching out to try to grab the fluffy object covering the microphone. The family is amused.

There is general conversation going on amongst family members and everyone is involved in different ways in the baking. Banele is fiddling with the neck of his T-shirt , which is wet. Mom notices and says its from teething.

When Banele becomes unsettled he is passed to Sihle who gives him a bottle of milk. Sihle lies him on his back in her arms to feed him but he pushes her hands away and takes the battle in both his hands, sits up and feeds himself. Sihle comments to the family that he “wants to do it himself. He doesn’t want my help”. Mom teases that he is being “forward” in rejecting Sihle’s help.
